We’re looking for a Senior National Account Manager to join our high-performing sales team and take ownership of key national customer relationships. This is a high-profile commercial role where you’ll shape and deliver customer strategy, own account P&L, lead Joint Business Planning, and drive sustainable growth across both branded and own-label portfolios. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to unlock category growth, improve performance, and build long-term partnerships in a fast-moving FMCG environment.
Job Responsibility:
Define and drive the commercial strategy for major UK retail accounts, leading the Joint Business Planning (JBP) process and delivering volume, value and margin targets
Own and execute customer strategies, ensuring strong alignment on forecasts, promotional activity and long-term growth plans
Partner closely with supply chain and internal teams to deliver accurate forecasting, promotional modelling and flawless execution
Shape range, distribution and promotional strategies, influencing shelf-space, pack architecture, NPD and private-label growth
Translate insight into action by analysing EPOS data, category trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and drive performance
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category teams, operations, supply chain and finance, acting as the voice of the customer internally
Manage and track investment budgets, invoices and claims with precision and accuracy
Coach and develop team members where applicable, supporting high performance and progression
Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and relevant retail and industry standards
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Senior National Account Manager or National Account Manager role within FMCG or large-scale retail, ideally UK grocery
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering customer growth in complex, fast-paced environments
Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, confident operating at senior buyer level
Data and insight driven, with strong capability in EPOS, category analysis, forecasting and turning insight into action
Experience across both branded and own-label portfolios is highly desirable
A clear communicator and confident presenter, able to lead meetings and deliver compelling strategic plans
Technically proficient, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
Leadership experience, either formally or informally, is an advantage
