Job Description

At Proper, we believe snacks can taste amazing and do good. We’re the team behind Propercorn and Properchips — bold, better-for-you snacks that punch above their weight on flavour, creativity, and purpose. As a certified B Corp, we’re serious about sustainability and shaking up the snacking category for good. We’re now looking for a passionate, commercially sharp Senior National Account Manager – Managed Retail to lead our growth in the managed retail channel — bringing Proper to more consumers across Symbols, Indies, Forecourts & the High St.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and deliver the retail growth strategy in line with Proper’s brand and commercial goals.
  • Lead customer planning across key national customers (e.g. Booker, Spar, Nisa, WHS, Boots, BP etc.).
  • Develop and implement joint business plans to drive distribution, visibility, and rate of sale.
  • Identify and unlock new opportunities across the managed retail space.
  • Deliver annual revenue, profit, and distribution targets for the foodservice channel.
  • Lead pricing and promotional strategy to optimise profitability and brand positioning.
  • Manage P&L and trade investment budgets effectively, ensuring strong ROI.
  • Forecast accurately, collaborating closely with supply and finance to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Build deep, trusted partnerships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Use insight and category data to influence menu listings, ranging, and innovation opportunities.
  • Champion Proper’s sustainability and B Corp credentials within customer conversations.
  • Lead and develop a team of National Account Managers and Executives.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Category, and Brand teams to deliver compelling activation and NPD launches.
  • Represent the channel internally, championing its value and potential.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in senior account management ideally in symbols/indies/forecourt or high st (ideally from FMCG / snacks / beverages).
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with full P&L accountability.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passion for challenger brands, sustainability, and shaking up the status quo.
  • Energetic, collaborative, and hands-on leader who loves building relationships and making things happen.
