Job Description

A strategic finance data platform requires support from an experienced senior engineer who can take ownership of complex technical features and deliver production-grade solutions end to end. The role is suited for a senior software engineer, data engineer, or platform engineer with strong fundamentals in distributed computing, large-scale data processing, scalable system design, and cloud-based engineering environments. This is a hands-on engineering role with strong feature ownership. The candidate is expected to drive larger technical topics from requirements clarification and solution design through implementation, testing, rollout, and operational handover. The person should show strong drive, ownership, and responsibility, proactively coordinating the work needed for their features while considering dependencies, downstream impact, maintainability, performance, and the broader platform context.

Job Responsibility

  • Take ownership of complex technical features from requirements clarification and design through implementation, testing, rollout, and operational handover
  • Design and implement scalable, production-grade data platform solutions
  • Apply distributed computing and large-scale data processing fundamentals to solve performance, scalability, and reliability challenges
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to engineering quality through reviews, documentation, and structured development practices
  • Troubleshoot and optimize complex data processing workloads and production issues
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and make pragmatic trade-offs around performance, maintainability, cost, and delivery timelines
  • Break down complex or ambiguous technical topics into clear, actionable implementation steps
  • Coordinate the design, implementation, testing, rollout, and communication needed for owned features
  • Identify dependencies, risks, edge cases, and unclear ownership early, and drive them to resolution
  • Work effectively with engineers and stakeholders to align on scope, approach, and delivery expectations
  • Look beyond the immediate task by considering adjacent systems, downstream consumers, operability, data quality, and long-term platform impact

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, or platform engineering, with strong fundamentals in distributed computing, big data processing, and scalable system design
  • Proven track record of delivering production-grade technical products or features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational handover
  • Strong ownership mindset and drive, with the ability to take over larger features, coordinate dependencies, make pragmatic technical decisions, and proactively communicate progress and risks
