Job Description:

Senior Modelling & Control Engineer (Autonomous Systems) Role Description: This role requires a professional comfortable with the entire system lifecycle from defining requirements based on first principles to detailed testing and validation. You will collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams across various regions to deliver high-impact products that enhance global security.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design high-fidelity 6-DOF models to accurately simulate complex vehicle dynamics and behaviors
  • Create, tune, and deploy flight-critical control laws and resilient trajectory algorithms
  • Lead Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and 'Iron Bird' development to verify systems against rigorous requirements
  • Support live flight testing, perform real-time data analysis, and handle on-site repairs or diagnostics
  • Act as a technical mentor to guide junior engineers through the full design and testing lifecycle
  • Develop GNSS-denied resilient guidance using A-PNT sensor sources

Requirements:

  • Expert proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
  • Hands-on experience with Autopilot/Flight Management System integration and vehicle data interfaces like CAN bus or Ethernet
  • Significant experience in Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) and redundancy implementation
  • Ability to define complex unmanned architectures from first principles
  • Must hold (or be able to obtain) UK SC security clearance
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally for systems testing
  • Proficient in C/C++ for APIs and embedded applications
  • Experience with experimental flight testing and system identification methodologies
