The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing Civil Engineering and Hydraulic Modelling team to help shape this next chapter. We are inviting expressions of interest from talented civil engineers and hydraulic modellers at all levels, from Consultant through to Associate Director, who want to play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable and innovative treatment solutions across nationally significant projects. Job Responsibility:
Work with our teams across the UK, Ireland and France to develop and deliver a range of hydraulic modelling services to our clients
Provide technical and expert advice to clients, manage and deliver projects
Support business development opportunities, contribution to tenders and proposals
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
Collaborate with wider Egis teams to develop market leading and innovative services to our clients
Participate in industry events, seminars and conferences
Showcase Egis technical capability and project experience
Requirements:
BSc/Eng or MSc/Eng in Civil, Water or Environmental Engineering disciplines
5-10 years of experience
Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
Demonstrable client, contractor or consultancy experience in UK Water Sector
Demonstrable knowledge of regulator (e.g. Environment Agency), modelling requirements and technical standards
You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this position
Experience developing, verifying/calibrating and checking 1D and 2D hydraulic models
Knowledge of working with integrated models (network/open channel/surface) and modelling to support DAPs
Good understanding of hydrological assessment and analysis
Flood risk modelling, assessments and mapping
Interest in and knowledge of water quality models
Experience using standard industry software in the UK e.g. InfoWorks ICM, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT
Hands on, delivery and client focused
Energised with a positive and strong work ethic
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and remote teams
Innovative mindset, always looking to improve, automate, streamline, learn and develop
Nice to have:
Knowledge of scripting / automation (e.g. Python, Ruby etc) advantageous
