Support the SSIO office with development of mission-specific and cross-portfolio M&S services, algorithms and effective characterization of likely scenario outcomes
Conduct requirements traceability from Mission Areas down to implementation of appropriate representative M&S simulations capable of accurately representing the physical dynamics, operations, and overall behavior of modeled systems
Model/simulate potential SoS and FoS materiel solutions and concepts in appropriate scenarios to evaluate and recommend modernization changes
Model materiel solutions that support determinations for system vulnerability, survivability and resilience, system performance including improved performance from enhancements and/or new technologies
Model materiel solutions that support utility trades, technology readiness assessment and related gathered intelligence
Establish Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) Verification and Validation (V&V) procedures for established MS&A tools and software upgrades
Conduct V&V of Models used by the Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO)
support maintenance of all Government models (AFSIM, SEAS, etc.), as directed by the Government
Assist with enterprise requirements development and JCIDS documentation
Analyze technical derivatives of cross-cutting space requirements relevant to the simulation outcomes of implemented M&S artifacts
Recommend practical, mission-driven solutions to meet performance, affordability and sustainment goals
Develop and present briefings, technical reports and architectural roadmaps
Collaborate with SWAC, CSRO/S5R and PEO offices to define and prioritize M&S for SATCOM, PNT, Missile Warning/Tracking, TacISR, SBEM, BMC3 and Launch systems at SSC
Requirements
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
15+ YOE in a STEM field with emphasis in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Earth Science, Mathematics, Operations Analysis or related field
Experience in the design, development, implementation, deployment, management or upgrade of a sufficiently complicated technical system within the SSIO mission space
Proficient in the systems engineering process and at least one implementation technology (e.g., software engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mission engineering)
Technical program leadership of a technical implementation team
Experience in basic team development and individual leadership training
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), Matlab, AFSIM, STK and adaptable to new analytical tools
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel as required (up to 20% of the time)
Nice to have
Experience with space system M&S (military, contractor, or DoD civilian) as a SETA or SE&I support staff
Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle and JCIDS processes
Background/experience in SSC mission areas: SATCOM, PNT, MW/MT, Space Weather, C3BM, Space Superiority, ISR and Ground/Network segments
Experience implementing a space system supportive of / critical to the current SSIO mission space (e.g., SATCOM, PNT, Missile Warning/Tracking, TacISR, SBEM, BMC3, Launch)
Experience in M&S of both systems and mission scenarios
Knowledge of statistical performance measurements and system / scenario performance evaluation
Background in development, implementation and execution of stochastic modeling V&V programs
