The Senior Mineral Driller will be responsible for executing drilling operations safely and efficiently using Fugro’s specialized drilling equipment. This role requires advanced technical expertise and leadership capabilities to manage drilling crews and ensure high-quality sample recovery for mineral exploration projects.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise drilling operations, including day and night shifts, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
Operate and maintain drilling rigs and associated equipment for mineral exploration projects
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Superintendents, Supervisors, Geotechnical Engineers, Geophysicists, and CPT Operators
Independently manage shifts when the Drilling Supervisor is off-site, demonstrating strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Prepare and maintain accurate drilling reports, including footage, consumables, and equipment status
Optimize drilling performance and ensure reliable data collection for project approvals
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral drilling operations
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with proficiency in various drilling techniques (RC, DD, AirCore)
Valid drilling qualifications and driver’s license
Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage crews in challenging environments
Physical fitness to perform strenuous tasks and work in diverse weather conditions
