Job Description

We're seeking a strategic merchandising leader to own content and shopping experience strategy for Grocery in Japan. You'll combine data-driven insights with creative storytelling to drive consumer engagement and conversion across high-impact marketing campaigns.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead local merchandising and content strategy for Grocery and Retail
  • Craft compelling consumer narratives using performance data, seasonality insights, and market trends
  • Optimize the end-to-end shopping journey to drive engagement and conversion
  • Own merchandising execution for high-impact marketing campaigns from planning through delivery
  • Manage campaign prioritization, planning calendars, and timelines in partnership with Sales and Marketing
  • Drive high-quality execution while contributing to longer-term strategic initiatives
  • Define success metrics and continuously track campaign and category performance
  • Generate actionable insights to improve consumer engagement, conversion, and shopping experience
  • Use data to identify opportunities to innovate and scale best practices
  • Serve as key leader aligning Operations, Sales, Strategy & Planning, Marketing, Legal, Product, and Global Merchandising teams
  • Influence and coordinate senior stakeholders across functions to ensure strategic alignment
  • Drive execution excellence through clear communication and collaborative leadership

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or consumer-facing businesses
  • Demonstrated ownership of merchandising, growth, or content-related initiatives
  • Strong analytical capabilities: SQL proficiency and experience using data to drive decisions and prioritization
  • Fluent in English and Japanese with ability to communicate effectively with senior, cross-functional stakeholders

Nice to have

  • Experience leading merchandising strategy, content optimization, or campaign execution in fast-paced, consumer environments
  • Proven ability to translate insights into clear strategies, execution plans, and business recommendations
