12-month maternity cover for the Senior Merchandiser, for our Merchandiser team. This role is responsible for delivering in-season actions that maximise sales & profit opportunities and achieve the Business Forecast. In this role, you will effectively plan and control Buy, Intake and Stock levels to meet WH and customer requirements within agreed financial targets and KPIs. You will be developing departmental strategies and sourcing initiatives with the Buyer in line with the Business strategy and agreed financial targets.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver seasonal range plans aligned to strategy, achieving sales, margin, and stock targets
Manage critical path execution, ensuring timely launches and accurate product setup
Build and optimise ranges by store, channel, and grade, reacting in-season to performance
Lead forecasting, stock management, availability, and clearance strategies
Analyse performance and produce end-of-season reviews to inform future planning
Manage order quantities and sizing strategies to support launch and in-season trading
Develop strong supplier partnerships and efficient production plans
Partner with Buying on sourcing strategies and balanced range development
Drive continuous improvement across systems and processes
Lead and develop the merchandising team and collaborate cross-functionally
Monitor competitor activity and market trends across UK and US channels
Requirements:
Proven ability to manage large commercial areas and deliver targets
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Effective cross-functional relationship builder
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic, brand-focused mindset with strong influencing ability
Strong planning, prioritisation, and team leadership skills
Proactive in identifying and driving improvements
Thorough knowledge/experience of WSSI, flow lines
Knowledge of worldwide supply chain operations

Controlling unplanned in season costs
Negotiation skills (managing in season unplanned costs)
Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems and to be fully conversant with standard business desktop applications
