The Main Electrical Equipment (MEQ) Engineer is a critical role within the Offshore Business focusing on the specification, procurement, manufacture and delivery of the offshore and onshore MEQ for the East Anglia 1N (EA1N) offshore wind project which is in the South-East of the UK.
Job Responsibility:
Scope, tender and appoint the requisite electrical design activities to develop and support a robust electrical design basis appropriate for the necessary stages of project development
Manage the provision of MEQ design data for input into electrical design studies and other design activities e.g. offshore and onshore substations
Lead the MEQ package scope of works to ensure that MEQ is specified, designed, manufactured, tested, stored, delivered to site, installed and commissioned to meet project requirements and industry best practice
Ensure that all assessments, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions
Maintain full awareness of the latest technical and commercial developments and identify suitable new technology that has the potential to reduce cost and/or risk or improve safety
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge and experience in EHV/HV electrical equipment related to large scale offshore wind farms and related grid connections
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence and develop key project and business decisions
Excellent report writing, presentation skills and ability to summarize key parameters and drivers impacting the project and business
Ability to work, manage teams and manage decision making processes under pressure and to tight deadlines
