Job Description:

Join our committed team at Sapphire Lodge, where we provide expert assessment, collaborative care, and therapeutic treatment for young people facing mental health challenges, including low mood, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, autism spectrum conditions, and more. You will provide clinical leadership and oversight to a compassionate inpatient team, contributing to the creation and implementation of personalised care plans. You will also deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager and support the professional development of your colleagues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of individualised care, treatment, and safety plans in collaboration with the MDT
  • Provide clinical advice, supervision, and support to staff, including organising rotas and mentoring student nurses
  • Contribute to Lodge leadership by assessing admission suitability, supporting safe discharge, and use clinical and risk assessment skills to maintain a safe environment
  • Support daily operations, including clinical supervision, the implementation of physical containment or de-escalation techniques, and the undertaking of delegated clinical care tasks
  • Promote clinical excellence through participation in clinical governance activities, audits, and quality improvement projects

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma Level Education as Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD)
  • Current registration with NMC
  • Teaching/Mentoring/Practice Supervisor and Assessor qualification
  • Relevant post registration qualification
  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional development
  • Substantial experience within mental health/learning disability
  • Mentoring experience with nursing students and training/development teaching of junior colleagues
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions, therapeutic interventions, and risk management strategies
  • Knowledge of legal frameworks relevant to CAMHS
  • Ability to dynamically risk assess clinical situations and respond appropriately
  • Ability to manage complex and challenging situations with empathy
  • Ability to organise and delegate workload within a team to meet deadlines
  • Able to use own initiative and problem solve
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages and different electronic systems
