Job Description

A highly regarded regional law firm with a long-standing reputation for excellence is seeking a Senior Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing litigation team in South Jersey. This is an opportunity for an experienced defense litigator to handle sophisticated, high exposure medical malpractice matters on behalf of healthcare systems, hospitals, physicians, and medical professionals across a wide range of specialties.

Job Responsibility

  • Independently manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice defense matters from intake through resolution
  • Defend healthcare providers and institutions in matters involving catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and high exposure claims
  • Handle all aspects of litigation including depositions, motion practice, written discovery, court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
  • Develop litigation strategy and provide risk assessments and legal analysis to clients and carriers
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda
  • Work closely with medical experts and consultants across numerous specialties
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and strategic guidance
  • Mentor entry level attorneys and contribute to a collaborative litigation team environment
  • Participate in business development, networking, and client development initiatives

Requirements

  • 7+ years of medical malpractice defense experience required
  • Experience representing hospitals, healthcare systems, physicians, and other medical professionals preferred
  • Strong deposition, motion, and courtroom experience required
  • Trial experience strongly preferred
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar required
  • additional admissions in Pennsylvania or New York are a plus
  • Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client focused and proactive approach
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in long term detail oriented growth and client development
