Job Description:

The Senior Medical Director will join Oak Street Health at a critical time in the history of our company and of primary care. The opportunity for impact is large and growing, with Oak Street Health leading the transition from fee-for-service to value-based care. The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for leading our provider teams in the local market and will partner with the Regional Vice President to achieve operational and clinical excellence.

Job Responsibility:

Leading provider teams in the local market
Partnering with Regional Vice President to achieve operational and clinical excellence
Practicing primary care in clinics 2 1/2 days per week
Supervising and mentoring health center Medical Directors
Interviewing, hiring, and retaining providers throughout the region
Developing physician leadership in providers
Supporting organizational strategy through committees and projects
Supervising interdisciplinary Complex Care Teams
Supervising Transitions Nurses
Participating in documentation and coding activities

Requirements:

M.D. / D.O. / DNP graduates
Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient practice
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a physician management role or role as medical director
Experience managing a medical group of 20 or more providers
Extensive experience in clinical leadership roles
Experience with managed care and/or value-based practice
Experience using a metrics-driven approach to analyze cost, quality, and satisfaction data
US work authorization

Nice to have:

Fellowship training in Geriatrics
Additional professional degrees (e.g., M.B.A., J.D., M.P.H.)
Excited by developing and implementing new processes
Self aware and confident in leadership skills
Comfort with ambiguity and strong desire for problem solving
