We are currently partnering with a growing business who are developing next-generation data storage technology designed to transform modern data infrastructure. Following recent growth they are now scaling their engineering teams as they transition from prototype to product. The company is building highly durable, energy-efficient storage hardware using pioneering technology. They are now looking to hire a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to support the development of the precision motion and control systems at the core of the platform. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a highly multidisciplinary R&D environment working across mechanics, electronics, embedded software, sensing, and real-time control systems. You will play a key role in developing motor control architectures, integrating sensors and actuators, tuning control systems, and debugging complex electromechanical behaviour. The role is highly hands-on and would suit someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems in a fast-paced development environment. The role is based in West London and is an on-site role.
Job Responsibility:
Develop precision motor control systems for complex electromechanical hardware
Support actuator, encoder, and sensor integration
Tune and validate PID, FOC, and closed-loop control systems
Work across embedded software, motor drivers, and real-time hardware interfaces
Develop test rigs and carry out system testing and validation
Debug issues across mechanical, electrical, sensing, and embedded systems
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Requirements:
Degree-qualified in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, or similar
3–5 years’ experience developing motor control or precision motion systems
Hands-on experience building and testing electromechanical systems
Experience with embedded C/C++ and real-time control systems
Strong debugging skills across hardware and embedded software
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
