As Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will lead engineering efforts across a broad spectrum of mechanical utilities with a specialized focus on industrial HVAC and ventilation systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and factory-level engineering groups to support capital projects, optimize utility systems, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Your work will directly impact operational excellence and environmental stewardship across our facilities.
Job Responsibility:
Provide expertise in mechanical utilities including steam, chilled water, cooling tower water, domestic water, compressed air, refrigeration and hazardous gases
Serve as project lead for HVAC and ventilation system design for industrial and non-industrial facilities, integrating heating and cooling sources such as natural gas, steam, chilled water and heat recovery
Drive mechanical utility standards, design, project execution and system performance
Develop and standardize HVAC retrofit and new construction designs including equipment specifications and bid packages
Provide engineering design and review for capital projects including scopes of work, requests for quotes (RFQ), construction packages and commissioning support
Ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical utility systems, minimizing environmental impact and resource consumption
Coach and train factory-level engineering and maintenance teams including managers, supervisors and technicians
Confirm compliance with federal, state and internal standards from design through operation and maintenance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in mechanical utility systems engineering in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related field
Associate's degree in applicable technical discipline with 7+ years of experience in mechanical utility systems engineering in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related field
Must be willing to travel approximately 30%-50% or more to meet business needs
