Job Description:

As a Senior Mechanical Rotating Technician, you are the technical specialist responsible for rotating equipment within our Seveso-regulated chemical site in Botlek. This is a hands-on role on the plant floor and in the workshop — not a desk job. You work day shifts and report to the Mechanical Team Lead.

Job Responsibility:

  • Inspect, maintain, and overhaul rotating equipment, mainly pumps and compressors
  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repair activities
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, analyse root causes, and document findings
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to schedules and procedures
  • Work closely with fellow technicians and engineers to ensure long-term equipment reliability
  • Strictly follow Seveso and site safety regulations
  • actively participate in toolbox meetings and ensure proper work registration
  • Participate in standby duties and adjusted shifts during shutdowns or emergencies, including acting as a supervisor when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum vocational level 4 (technical diploma) in Mechanical Engineering, Allround Operational Technician, Marine Engineering, or similar
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment maintenance
  • Experience with vibration measurements, alignment, and precision measuring instruments
  • Valid VCA-VOL certificate
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Dutch language skills at minimum B2 level (English is an advantage)
  • Strong safety awareness, accuracy, and team-oriented mindset
