A senior mechanical engineer designs, develops, and tests mechanical systems and products, often leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. They possess extensive technical expertise and problem-solving skills to manage complex engineering challenges throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept to production.
Job Responsibility:
Perform advanced engineering tasks, including creating 3D models, detailed drawings, and schematics using SolidWorks
Conduct analyses such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to evaluate designs for performance, reliability, and safety
Manage all stages of a project, from budgeting and scheduling to coordinating with internal teams and external vendors
Serve as a technical leader, mentor junior engineers and technicians, and conduct design reviews to ensure quality
Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial design concepts through prototyping, testing, validation, and transfer to manufacturing
Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams
Investigate system/equipment failures and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues to diagnose faulty operations and recommend effective remedies
Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost-saving measures
Work with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and project management, to ensure successful project integration and completion
Clearly communicate complex technical information and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
5–10 years or more of experience in mechanical design and development
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD)
Experience with engineering analysis tools such as FEA and CFD
Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes
Strong project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, teams, and stakeholders
Adaptability and a continuous learning mindset to stay current with industry trends and technology
