We are seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in piping and mechanical engineering to support complex, large-scale projects across infrastructure, buildings, and industrial developments. The role requires deep technical knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across all project phases, from concept to execution.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the discipline engineer responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical and piping engineering services
Lead concept development, engineering studies, detailed design, and preparation of engineering deliverables in accordance with approved procedures and standards
Verify, review, and sign off on technical designs, specifications, calculations, and bid documents
Provide expert technical advice and discipline support throughout all project stages
Ensure technical integrity, safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to approved engineering standards
Deliver engineering services in line with project schedules, cost, and quality requirements
Develop, update, and monitor engineering schedules for in-house activities and support FEED / EPIC project planning
Coordinate and review multi-disciplinary work scopes, ensuring clarity, completeness, and constructability
Review and approve method statements from contractors and liaise to resolve technical issues
Evaluate technical bid packages and assess vendor and contractor technical compliance and capability
Review and approve technical deviations, waivers, and variations from approved codes, standards, and practices
Apply and ensure compliance with international and company (e.g., QatarEnergy) standards relevant to the discipline
Support discipline heads in managing and maintaining discipline standards
Participate in technical assurance, standardization, and governance activities
Assess suitability of proposed deviations from company or international standards
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the activities of a team of engineers delivering mechanical and piping services
Promote collaboration and teamwork across internal and external stakeholders
Support competency development and structured training, including mentoring engineers under development
Contribute to the professional development of national engineers through coaching and on-the-job training
Work independently with minimal supervision
Take accountability for engineering decisions, technical integrity, and safety outcomes
Assess and recommend the technical suitability of tenderers and contractors
Ensure timely resolution of engineering challenges, including interface issues with adjacent disciplines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
MMUP Grade A Certification (preferred)
Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of international engineering standards and company-specific standards relevant to piping and mechanical engineering
Proficiency in piping and mechanical engineering analysis software, such as CAESAR II
Strong skills in engineering drafting and modeling tools, including AutoCAD
Experience with 3D piping and mechanical modeling is highly desirable
Familiarity with the latest engineering design tools and digital engineering practices
