Job Description:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work directly with some of the world’s largest technology companies and other mission-critical clients. You will serve as a mechanical engineer on projects, design calculations, write technical reports, and prepare documents. Experience in the Data Center industry is preferred. You will also coordinate with other Olsson teams, professional staff, technical staff, and clients.

  • Licensed PE
  • Ability to be a self-starter to take on a variety of tasks to best serve the client and their project work
  • Investigation and troubleshooting of problems to find solutions

  • Interface with the owner to ensure critical infrastructure integrity
  • Provide oversight across the delivery of ground-up data center builds and infrastructure upgrades in a design build environment, ensuring alignment with project delivery schedules and stakeholder expectations and full accountability for T5 scope, schedule, quality, and budget
  • Act as the primary onsite representative for the owner, ensuring consistent alignment between field execution and client expectations
  • Coordinate across disciplines (design, construction, commissioning, controls, networking, security, etc.) to ensure seamless project integration and handoff to operations
  • Oversight of engineering firms & general contractors throughout all project phases, including mobilization, execution, punch list, and turnover
  • Monitor change orders with stakeholders and monitor resolutions to prevent delays and mitigate financial risk
  • Monitor construction progress and prepare regular executive level updates on key metrics, schedule forecasts, constraints/issues, risks, etc. for internal and client stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the T5 Commissioning Lead on commissioning and integrated testing efforts that will verify system performance prior to handoff
  • Deliver constructability input on electrical and mechanical designs for the assigned campus to ensure cost effective, buildable solutions
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve construction processes, safety practices, and overall efficiency across T5’s growing data center portfolio
