Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Calandria Engineer (CANDU). Contract Duration: 12 months - extended annually. Location: Mississauga (HYBRID). Hourly Rate: $70-$85/hr INC. This individual will need to be very familiar with the CANDU Reactor technology. Ideally, this would be someone with CANDU 6 experience and/or a retired AECL/CANDU Energy Mechanical Engineer.

Job Responsibility

  • Interpret/ review/ read detailed drawings and ability to outline GA drawings
  • Work with cost estimators and manufacturing engineers to review/ understand BoM, manufacturing sequences and processes
  • Be the single point of contact with vendor, and internal team
  • Manage project risk, interpret complex contracts, and resolve commercial or technical issues
  • Deliver regular, transparent reporting to both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a manufacturing based organization
  • Familiarity with CANDU reactor technology
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience/ knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchangers will be an asset
  • Experience in the nuclear energy or power generation industry or oil and gas sectors will be an asset
