Job Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required to join our MEICA Water team as we look ahead to tackling some of the UKs most technically challenging projects & AMP8 programmes. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, youll play a pivotal role in utilising your technical expertise on a wide range of clean water and wastewater projects both regionally and across the UK. Job Responsibility

  • Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production, checking, review or approval of mechanical design deliverables
  • Supporting and / or Leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets
  • Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions
  • Technical delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment, in a mechanical design Lead capacity where assigned, using latest digital design processes and resources
  • Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers
  • Co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA)
  • Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters
  • Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives
  • Capturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations
  • Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree
  • Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or approaching) and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM)
  • Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably related to water and wastewater industry
  • Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms
  • Team leader with collaborative behaviours
  • Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience
