Your typical day – Our MDA analysts and engineers work in modern, well-appointed government facilities at Redstone Arsenal. Redstone is located in Huntsville, Alabama, otherwise known as “Rocket City.” Huntsville is the hub of missile and space research and development. You will collaborate with other missile defense experts – military, government civilians, and contractors from Astrion and other companies. Our team of experts helps the Government manage planning, development and delivery of state-of-the art sensors, weapons, communications, and command/control systems. What are your specific duties? - The Senior MBSE Systems Engineer will support the Missile Defense Agency Director of Test, Targets Engineering Directorate. The candidate will provide technical and advisory assistance to Targets Program Office by aiding in the refinement and implementation of MBSE design standards across a portfolio of products.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as architect for implementation of the Government Reference Architecture (GRA) MBSE solution across the Targets Program office
Author process documents, develop template frameworks, and construct metric reporting methods to facilitate the execution of the MBSE solution to existing and future programs
Use requirements analysis to create and maintain the GRA in Cameo
Perform and lead systems engineering duties to elicit stakeholder requirements and mission needs
Perform functional analysis using Model-based Systems Engineering techniques and tools
Define requirements, perform functional analysis using Model-based Systems Engineering techniques and tools
Requirements:
Master's or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field
MS + 12 years or BS + 20 years of relevant experience
Active DoD Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship
Works independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems
Expert Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), preferably with direct experience working DoD Systems
Ability to train others on MBSE concepts and tools
Experience with languages used for architecture modeling (i.e. DoD Architecture Framework and (Unified Architecture Framework (UAF))
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Nice to have:
Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
Experience with missiles, targets, missile defense systems or hypersonic weapons
Hands-on experience with integrated requirements tools, such as DOORs NG
Exposure to MDA test events and activities
Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
