We are looking for a motivated, pro-active Test Engineer willing to learn new technologies, working in a challenging and fast paced environment. You will be working in small cross-functional Agile teams responsible for the end-to-end development and component support using ‘You Build It, You Run It’ principle. E-commerce platform for one of the largest building merchants. Our client is taking on the complete redevelopment of the existing legacy platform with the focus on UX and Responsive Web Design, and Microservice Platform. It is aiming to remove vendor locking and fully leverage on the latest Open Source technical stack delivering eCommerce platform of the future. The focus is on user journey, offer personalisation, search, customer data mining, smart adds and headless CMS allowing Business to efficiently manage day to day trading activities, promotions and sales. What project we have for you: The client is a multi-channel retailer of tools and building materials. It has more than 500 branches in the UK, 90 in the Netherlands, 23 in France and 19 in Belgium.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement the use of appropriate testing tools, and test techniques to continuously improve quality
Write test plans and scripts based on project / new feature requirements for multiple products including website, EPOS and warehouse management
Maintain documentation of the QA process
Support all testing and release activities across multiple development teams as appropriate, ensuring the business and technical requirements for change are thoroughly understood and documented
Validating production bugs
Communicate with development teams to provide a reliable and consistent end-user experience
Troubleshoot any defects
Monitor QA activities, test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis and identify areas of improvement
Analyse requirements to identify all relevant tests scenarios and edge cases
Requirements:
Work within UK business hours (8:00 – 17:00)
4+ years in integration, API testing
Solid understanding of Microservices/API
Experience in writing manual tests
Able to construct manual test scripts
Write test plans based on project requirements
Test case management tools – Test Rail
Project management tools – Jira and Confluence
Strong understanding and experience in Agile processes
Demonstrable experience of testing at all stages of the SDLC
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Broad knowledge of a variety of current test and release tools
Experience with API testing (Postman), manual testing execution
Understanding and basic experience with Playwright
Nice to have:
Experience in using version control software – Git
Experience creating testing strategies, plans and cases for medium-sized projects
Experience of working in cloud-based environments (GCP)
