Job Description:

Our client, located in Mississauga, is a leading telecommunications company and seeking a Senior Manager to lead a Team of 2 managers. This role requires a strong leader with at least 4-5 years of Big 4 accounting or large public company experience and business partnering expertise. The ideal talent will have strong communication skills, the ability to partner with inter-departmental leaders and have the ability to think independently and with a high attention to detail. This is a very encompassing role and is ideal for someone who wants something robust, who has the ability to understand the full cycle accounting (technical aspects), interpret standards and has an analytical mindset.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare month end results
Maintenance of financial processes and controls, including review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations
Financial Reporting (consolidated)
Engage with pricing teams on new initiatives to understand pricing strategy and financial results implications
Reivew and analyze financial results to drive value-add decision making
Support various internal and external reporting
Support audit process
Lead a team of 2 Managers

Requirements:

Bechelors degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Commerce
CPA designation, an asset
Minimum 5+ years of work experience (preferably at a large public accounting firm) or in a Controller/similar role
Strong IFRS technical accounting background with specific experience with IFRS 15 (revenue recognition is a big part of this)
Superior interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence and engage key stakeholders
Highly organized, with the ability to independently plan and execute on multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office
experience with SAP (BI/FI) would be an asset

Nice to have:

Someone with an automation mindset and experience with automation tools preferred
Experience with IFRS15 (revenue recognition) preferred
