Senior Manager – V&A Transformation Initiatives. Join Amgen’s Mission of Serving Patients. As the Senior Manager – V&A Transformation Initiatives Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team at the forefront of solving the US Value & Access team’s biggest challenges using cutting edge technology. You’ll combine a deep understanding of access data and analytics with expertise in developing and deploying advanced machine learning, operational research, semantic analysis, and statistical methods to uncover structure in large data sets. Together with your team, you will deliver measurable improvements in net revenue USV&A team efficiency, and deepen our organization’s understanding of the American healthcare ecosystem. The AIN Transformation team will be viewed as an “innovation engine”, constantly testing and refining analytics solutions to address customer needs and opportunities alongside business partners.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead a team to develop innovative AI solutions for use cases such as anomaly detection models (with supervised, semi-supervised, unsupervised learning), agentic “co-pilot” layers to support USV&A business partners, and formulary validation tools
  • Lead technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics
  • Lead development and integration of custom applications, intelligent dashboards, and automated workflows that incorporate AI capabilities to enhance decision-making and efficiency
  • Serve as product owner for all solutions built by the Transformation team to support USV&A activities until hand-off to appropriate functional owner is completed
  • Accountable to drive full lifecycle of Data Science projects delivery and ability to guide data scientists in shaping the developing solutions and act as a subject matter expert in solving development and commercial questions
  • Cross-collaborate with US Commercial and Technology functions for expansion and continued optimization
  • Manage AI tools’ road map, working with a global cross functional team
  • Summarize and Present insights to Cross functional executive leadership
  • Oversee a team of 6-8 data scientists including managers and senior associates, including setting performance standards, managing their staffing, and monitoring performance
  • Support finance, compliance, legal, and commercial teams to identify opportunities for value capture

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 8 years of Information Systems experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or STEM majors with a minimum of 10 years of Information Systems experience
  • Strong understanding of US pharmaceutical ecosystem and patient support services offerings (e.g., copay) and other standard data sets including claims, prescription, integrated EMR
  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, ideally with hands-on involvement in Gross-to-Net (GTN), revenue forecasting, product launches, and commercial strategy support
  • Experience with one or more analytic software tools or languages like R and Python
  • Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms and techniques

Nice to have:

  • Experience in leading data science projects and managing large teams
  • Knowledge of NLP techniques for text analysis and sentiment analysis
  • Experience in analyzing time-series data for forecasting and trend analysis
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
