Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a dynamic, hands-on Senior Manager, Tax to lead our client's tax function on a 4–6-week remote engagement beginning immediately. This role is ideal for a tax generalist with strong technical depth and operational agility who can think strategically while also rolling up their sleeves to execute. The Senior Manager will balance high-level tax planning and oversight with active involvement in compliance and accounting (ASC 740).
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the organization’s tax position across various jurisdictions
Provide guidance to management on tax implications of business initiatives, acquisitions, and strategic decisions
Oversee tax compliance processes, ensuring accurate documentation of tax positions, calculations, and payments
Manage the preparation and review of the tax provision, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax items, journal entries, and reconciliations
Coordinate the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations
Monitor and manage indirect tax compliance, including sales, property, franchise, and other business taxes
Collaborate with external auditors and advisors to handle audits and resolve tax-related issues efficiently
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the company and implementing necessary adjustments
Conduct tax due diligence and structuring for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships with support from external advisors
Lead and mentor a team of accountants and consultants, fostering growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate tax compliance and planning
Proficiency in preparing income tax provisions and managing tax filings at the federal, state, and local levels
Strong knowledge of indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax regulations
Hands-on experience with tax software such as Avalara and CCH Sales Tax
Expertise in analyzing tax laws and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and optimize benefits
Familiarity with M&A tax structuring and due diligence processes
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage teams effectively
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
