Job Description

This full-time role senior leadership role is based in the Adelaide office and requires some intrastate travel. This is a strategic leadership position across multiple critical business areas, focused on providing end-to-end commercial oversight and improvements across a growing business. You will sit on the SLT with a supportive and progressive executive.

Job Responsibility

  • Providing comprehensive leadership across procurement strategy, governance, inventory management, logistics, and supplier management
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a multidisciplinary team of procurement, contracts, and supply chain professionals
  • Managing the complete contract lifecycle, encompassing strategy development, tendering, negotiation, award, administration, and close-out
  • Conducting strategic spend analysis to identify cost reduction, supplier rationalisation, and commercial improvement opportunities
  • Establishing and enforcing rigorous governance controls, procurement standards, and compliance procedures across all functional activities
  • Partnering closely with executive leadership, operational managers, and technical teams to align procurement support with overarching business priorities

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in business management, supply chain management, or equivalent field
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience, ideally in heavy infrastructure, capital-intensive, or complex operational environment
  • In-depth knowledge of comprehensive supply chain systems, encompassing sourcing, purchasing, warehousing, inventory management, and logistics
  • Strong practical experience in ERP systems
  • Proven capacity to operate between corporate office and field-based environments
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with ability to coach and manage stakeholder expectations under pressure

  • Defines, maintains, and executes sourcing strategies for one or more complex projects and/or purchasing opportunities to ensure optimal cost and sufficient continuity of supply and/or service, collects relevant internal and industry data to understand business requirements, benchmarks data against relevant markets, and shares industry and category expertise across stakeholder teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies.
  • Integrates business specifications for complex purchasing areas into request for information (RFI) and/or request for proposal (RFP) processes. Collaborates cross-functionally to define and manage supplier scorecard criteria (e.g., key performance indicators [KPIs], Service Level Agreements [SLAs]), coordinates supplier performance reviews, and drives corrective actions.
  • Manages contract and price negotiation activities for a single purchasing category cross-functionally and ensures that both price and capacity needs are met while also reflecting Microsoft's cross-functional engagements with suppliers. Identifies cost reduction opportunities and works closely with suppliers to drive cost competitiveness.
