This involves solving some of the most complex Trust & Safety challenges of our time. Our work is informed by rigorous research and stakeholder collaboration, and we design policies that can support our community at scale. We team with our cross-functional partners to create accessible policy enforcement guides and to continuously maintain and improve our policies. The Difference You Will Make: As a Senior Manager, Product & AI Policy, you will partner closely with our product and business teams to support Airbnb's strategic objectives. You will serve as a key player in identifying policy vulnerabilities and designing global policies that facilitate a high quality experience across Airbnb. A critical part of this role is enabling our business and product teams to move quickly and confidently, with policy frameworks that support innovation. You will develop policies for AI-powered product initiatives, informing guardrails that protect the community. This role entails understanding the needs of hosts and guests and collaborating closely with our business, design, and product teams. The policies you build will directly shape how millions of hosts and guests experience Airbnb and their confidence in the platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead policy development for new and existing product areas, including AI-powered features, drafting clear and scalable policy frameworks that keep pace with product innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization, including Product, Business, Supply, Design, Communications, Operations, Public Policy, and Legal
  • Foster, build, and maintain relationships with leadership of internal business verticals, acting as a trusted policy partner who helps teams move forward
  • Guide policy operationalization efforts in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support product and AI feature launches with appropriate risk mitigation guidance and policy deliverables
  • Proactively use data, research, and community insights to evaluate existing policies, identify improvement opportunities, and drive revisions before issues escalate

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in a Policy, Legal, or Trust and Safety role
  • Prior leadership on product policy, with demonstrated experience developing AI policy in support of AI-driven product initiatives
  • Familiarity with the AI policy landscape
  • Demonstrated capacity for critical thinking, research, and analysis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Thoughtful business judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to work well under pressure
  • Proven ability to partner with and enable business teams, translating policy requirements into practical solutions that support commercial objectives
