Job Description

Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Manager, Privacy to join our growing Corporate Responsibility team and lead the next chapter of our global privacy program. This is a leadership role for someone ready to set strategy, build and develop a team, and drive privacy maturity across a global software business. Reporting to the Global Data Protection Officer, you will have significant autonomy to enhance our privacy controls, processes and policies. This is a strategic role where you will collaborate cross functionally including with product and technology teams to address emerging privacy challenges, including supporting the development of our AI responsible use and digital regulation programs. As a key advisor for our operations, your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our privacy strategy is robust and effective on a global scale.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and advance our global privacy program end to end — setting strategy and maturing our policies, processes, and controls to a market-leading standard
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a privacy team, building capability and fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture
  • Be a Strategic Partner and collaborate across the business including product, technology, infosec, legal and leadership teams to embed a "privacy-by-design" culture, providing expert guidance on a range of compliance matters
  • Be a key advisor on emerging digital regulations and play a central role in developing and implementing our AI responsible use program
  • Apply deep European privacy expertise to navigate regulatory differences across APAC and other regions, ensuring a strategy that is globally consistent and locally relevant
  • Design and deliver engaging, audience-tailored privacy training — translating complex requirements into practical guidance for teams ranging from engineers to marketers
  • Oversee core privacy operations, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), risk reviews, and data subject rights requests, driving efficiency and excellence

Requirements

  • 5+ years of privacy experience, including a strong track record of developing and leading a privacy program (in-house or at a top-tier consultancy), ideally in a global environment
  • Experience leading or mentoring others, with the ability to build and develop a team
  • Specialist privacy credentials — such as an IAPP certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM), a Law or IT degree (or higher), or a data protection diploma — are a distinct advantage
  • Proven ability to communicate complex privacy requirements clearly and persuasively, influencing diverse stakeholders and driving change
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with and influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership in a global enterprise
  • A proactive, self-directed leader who thrives working independently while collaborating with colleagues worldwide
