GEICO is looking for a communications professional to support our Corporate Communications organization. In this high-impact, high visibility role, the candidate will work to develop and execute strategic internal communications to engage, inform and inspire GEICO associates. In addition, this role – which reports to the Director of Associate Communications – will be responsible for the leadership of two direct reports with responsibility for supporting our People Group/Human Resources organization.
Job Responsibility:
Create targeted messaging and campaigns to address new programs or processes, policies, change management, and engage associates at all levels within the People Group
Engage regularly with People Group stakeholders to understand their key priorities and develop strategic communications plans and tactics to bring their initiatives to life for GEICO employees
Employ both proactive and reactive strategic thinking and decision making
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of internal communications
Continuously measure, evaluate, and modify communications plans and tactics to improve impact and effectiveness
Develop and execute strategic communications plans that reinforce the company’s priorities and key initiatives
Manage, mentor, develop and inspire communications team members including setting goals, providing development and leadership, and tracking success metrics
Edit and review the work of one direct report with a focus on creating communications that are clear, engaging, and relevant to employees
Requirements:
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant corporate communications experience with a strong emphasis on internal communications
Strong internal communications experience at large companies
Proven people leadership experience
Adept at influencing business partners, managing change and driving adoption of new communication initiatives
Exceptional communicator, able to present ideas verbally, in writing, formally and informally
Experience working on Human Resources/People communications at a large company
Proven leader, someone who knows how to manage a team and values guiding high-performing teams
Experience working with senior-level leaders – those within HR is a plus
Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail
Ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analysis
Proficiency in utilizing communication and collaboration platforms, digital tools, and analytics to drive effective communications
Strong writing skills with the ability to understand and communicate difficult concepts
Bachelor’s degree
