Robert Half Management Resources is partnering with a global publicly traded organization seeking a Senior Manager of US Tax to lead US tax compliance, provision, and indirect tax operations. This is a high-visibility leadership role based in Memphis, TN, overseeing a team of six tax professionals and supporting a complex multinational structure.
Job Responsibility
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions and related reconciliations
Manage preparation and review of US corporate income tax returns
Oversee R&D credit and other tax incentive programs
Manage estimated tax payments and forecasting processes
Lead IRS and state tax audits and related correspondence
Support cross-border reporting and compliance requirements
Oversee sales & use tax compliance and reporting
Manage property tax filings, assessments, and appeals
Lead state and local indirect tax audits
Ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Support tax-related financial statement disclosures and MD&A inputs
Assist with forecasting, valuation, and tax-related financial modeling
Identify and support tax planning opportunities tied to reorganizations, acquisitions, and integrations
Research and interpret evolving tax legislation and implications (e.g., BEAT, Pillar 2, transfer pricing, CbCR)
Partner cross-functionally to optimize tax position and business outcomes
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six US tax professionals
Foster a high-performance and development-focused team culture
Maintain strong SOX internal controls, documentation, and compliance standards
Manage external advisors across compliance and consulting engagements
Drive process improvement and tax technology automation initiatives
Collaborate with international tax teams across multiple regions
Support internal audit and risk mitigation activities
Requirements
CPA required
7–10+ years of corporate tax experience (strong income tax focus required)
Deep experience in US federal and state income tax compliance and provision
Prior experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment
Demonstrated leadership experience managing tax/accounting teams (6+ direct reports preferred)
Strong technical tax research and regulatory interpretation skills
Nice to have
Exposure to international tax concepts (BEAT, Pillar 2, transfer pricing, CbCR)
Experience in multinational or publicly traded environments
Master’s in Taxation or equivalent advanced tax education
Experience with indirect taxes (sales & use, property tax)
Background in acquisition-heavy or transformation-focused organizations
Familiarity with tax technology and process automation initiatives
