Job Description:

The Senior Manager of Fuels Transportation is responsible for leading a team of transportation schedulers who manage the movement of fuel from multiple terminals to retail and wholesale locations across the U.S. and Canada. This role ensures operational excellence in fuel delivery, maintaining an in-stock rate of 99.75% while optimizing carrier performance, minimizing costs and managing supply constraints. The Senior Manager will oversee execution of dynamic scheduling plans (Best -buy execution), drive cost efficiency, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, effective communication and prioritization skills, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team responsible for scheduling and transporting over 10 billion gallons of fuel annually to 8,500+ retail outlets in both USA and Canada
  • Provide direction, guidance and leadership to a team of Transportation Schedulers that have daily responsibility for managing 10 B gallons of fuel to 7-Eleven/ Speedway and wholesale stores on an annual basis
  • Strong ability to prioritize time based on business impact
  • Ensure all operations are conducted timely and in the most cost-effective manner, while optimizing the system to capture full monetary value
  • Conduct trend and cost analysis
  • Review carrier execution and compliance and support supply allocations for store demand
  • Proactively identify commercial opportunities with Fuel Schedulers and traders to optimize fuel supply and costs to the stores
  • Present supply alternatives and work closely with the SVP and directors in supply, trading and transportation function to formulate and execute strategic and operational objectives
  • Work cross-functionally with construction, pricing, operations managing ~ 3,500 + deliveries per day
  • Manage projects to improve operational efficiencies, processes and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Fuel Transportation and Supply Operations experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Detailed understanding of freight rates, Fuel surcharges, the various accessorial charges
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employees
  • Ability to manage team responsibilities, schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Process improvement capabilities and problem-solving skills
