Job Description

The Senior Manager of Communications will inspire, shape and deliver the next evolution of internal and external communications to enhance employee engagement, build the Alter Domus brand, foster a positive corporate culture, and ensure effective information dissemination across the organisation.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy which reflects the evolving needs of a complex, global business
  • Actively shape the evolution of communications, ensuring it reflects industry best practice and is responsive to the ongoing needs of the business
  • Drive the external brand positioning strategy for Alter Domus, ensuring consistent brand messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints
  • Lead the strategic development of the Alter Domus brand narrative, ensuring differentiation in the competitive B2B professional services landscape
  • Lead the development and execution of external communications strategies to build and enhance the Alter Domus brand across key markets
  • Oversee corporate messaging, thought leadership programmes, and media relations to position Alter Domus as a leader in the industry
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, media partners, and industry stakeholders to amplify brand visibility
  • Drive the creation of compelling external content including press releases, articles, case studies, client communications, and digital content
  • Develop and implement crisis communications protocols and manage sensitive external communications as required
  • Lead strategic communications for major organisational change initiatives, ensuring clear, timely and consistent messaging to all stakeholder groups
  • Partner with senior leadership and project teams to develop comprehensive change communication plans that drive understanding, adoption and engagement
  • Create and deploy targeted communication campaigns to support operational transformations, system implementations, restructures, and other business-critical changes
  • Develop communication frameworks and toolkits that enable business units to effectively communicate operational updates and changes

Requirements

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with 10-15 years’ experience managing a suite of internal communications channels, including intranet, mobile apps, internal social media channels, and other emerging communication and collaboration technologies
  • Strong external communications experience including media relations, thought leadership, content creation, and brand management
  • Deep understanding of brand positioning, messaging architecture, and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of core internal communications, change management and employee engagement strategies
  • Proven ability to develop communications strategies that support complex change initiatives and operational transformations
  • Excellent leadership skills (i.e., organising, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management
  • Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills
  • ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm and with external stakeholders
  • First-rate communications and diplomatic skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with the most senior and challenging audiences, including C-suite executives, Board members, media, and external partners

  • Excellent language skills including reading, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to ensure proper and efficient communication

  • Advanced knowledge of relevant communications software and tools, including Canva, content management systems, media monitoring platforms, and digital communications tools
  • Familiarity with social media management, digital marketing platforms, and emerging communications technologies
