We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Accounting to lead and oversee financial operations in Pacific Grove, California. This role is essential for managing the general ledger while supporting additional accounting functions to ensure consistent and reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative approach to drive improvements and uphold high standards within the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise the general ledger and contribute to the monthly financial close process through journal entry preparation and account reconciliation
Review and validate the work performed by accounting team members to ensure accuracy and compliance
Play a key role in the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts at both department and organizational levels
Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate interim and annual audits efficiently
Establish, maintain, and enforce financial controls that safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting
Lead special projects focused on departmental enhancements, process updates, financial analysis, and policy adjustments
Ensure the organization adheres to financial regulations and internal policies to maintain compliance
Provide leadership and guidance to foster a collaborative and high-performing accounting team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
3+ years of experience in public accounting or a similar role, preferably within a public company
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including familiarity with GAAP and current financial standards
Proven experience with accounting systems and financial reporting tools, as well as implementing procedures
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to collaborate across departments
Practical understanding of operational accounting and financial management
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Nice to have:
Prior experience in the hotel or resort industry is highly desirable
