Job Description:

This position is a Senior Manager of Competitive Intelligence on the Strategy team of Capital One Software, the enterprise B2B software division of Capital One. Our strategy team focuses on solving the most pressing strategic questions across Capital One Software and supports projects across all functional areas within the context of data security and data management. Projects include assessing market and competitive dynamics, researching best-in-class practices across functions/topics and developing tailored plans for how to implement, developing destination state strategies that drive enduring and profitable growth, and developing materials for Board and SLT meetings. You will work closely with Capital One Software leadership to lead our market intelligence and competitive analysis efforts and decode the complex landscapes of data management and data security software. You will apply your deep industry knowledge, strategic thinking, and executive communication skills to provide the Capital One Software leadership team and key stakeholders across GTM, Product, and Marketing with the latest market and competitor insights and support development of a winning strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct in-depth market industry research: Be an expert on the complex and dynamic market landscape of data security, data management, and adjacent domains, including topics like market trends and disruptive technological advances
  • Know the competitive landscape: Monitor competitors’ business models, product offerings, pricing strategies, and M&A activities to have a consistent pulse on the competitive landscape to inform strategy recommendations, GTM motions, and product roadmap
  • identify "white space" in the market where competitor offerings are failing to meet evolving enterprise needs
  • Deliver executive briefings: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by delivering insight-backed briefings and strategic recommendations based on key industry trends and competitive dynamics
  • be the “go to” person for market insights across the Software business
  • Cultivate cross functional relationships: Build and maintain cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders across Capital One Software including Strategy, GTM, Product, and Product Marketing
  • Build out market and competitive intelligence program: as a new functional role for Capital One Software, you will get to build the competitive intelligence program from the ground up, shaping how it is developed

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence or product marketing
  • At least 3 years of experience analyzing industry trends and competitive dynamics of the data security or data management industry
  • At least 3 years of developing and presenting materials to senior leaders

Nice to have:

  • 6+ years of experience helping organizations solve key business questions and supporting growth strategy decisions in a constantly changing environment
  • Knowledge of the data and AI security market, including vendor offerings and market trends
  • 6+ years experience working in the data or AI security space, ideally in a competitive intelligence, product marketing, or similar role where market and competitive intelligence was core to your day to day
