Job Description

A leading global law firm is seeking a qualified attorney to join its Knowledge and Innovation team in a leadership role focused on legal data, technology, risk, and compliance. This position blends legal expertise with technology strategy, data governance, AI oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. The individual in this role will work closely with practice groups, firm leadership, IT, and business services teams to advance initiatives related to AI, technology adoption, data strategy, and risk management.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a liaison between knowledge attorneys, practice groups, and internal departments to identify, collect, and organize key practice data
  • Coordinate with finance and business teams to reconcile cross-functional data sets
  • Partner with data architects and database administrators to align legal and business requirements with data management processes
  • Support firmwide initiatives leveraging practice data for strategic planning and performance insights
  • Help establish efficient processes for maintaining accurate and actionable data
  • Monitor progress of data initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee implementation of knowledge and data systems aligned with legal workflows and firm objectives
  • Act as a point of contact for ongoing data management support
  • Review and advise on outside counsel guidelines, particularly related to AI, technology, and innovation
  • Partner with Vendor Management and IT teams to review and negotiate contracts involving technology and AI tools

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or foreign equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years practicing as an attorney in a law firm environment
  • Experience with contract negotiation and interpretation
  • Familiarity with outside counsel guidelines, vendor management, or law firm risk/compliance functions
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage complex initiatives with limited supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in legal technology, AI, data governance, and innovation
