The Senior Manager, IT Procurement leads the global IT Software category for Commercial, Finance, HR, and R&D, managing over $100M in annual spend. This role reports to the Global Procurement Director of Enterprise Technology within Baxter’s Indirect Procurement organization. The leader will drive procurement excellence by optimizing cost, quality, and service across assigned categories. This includes partnering with senior business leaders to define priorities, set strategic direction, manage a multi‑year category roadmap, and align business needs with the right supply base. The role also requires proactively assessing new suppliers and technologies to support innovation and improve patient outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and lead global category strategies, pipelines, and long-term plans in collaboration with internal partners
Oversee supplier selection, risk assessments, and contract negotiations for key initiatives
Manage Supplier Relationship Management programs for strategic vendors
Provide regular updates to senior leadership and internal partners
Lead value-based negotiations for critical supply agreements
Track, report, and communicate savings and value delivered
Identify innovation opportunities through market and supplier insights
Serve as a leader with vision on market trends, cost management, and standard methodologies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Information Technology or Business Management
Minimum 7 years of category management experience with multinational organizations
Previous experience sourcing Information Technology with an emphasis on software
Proven leadership in people management, partner management, and project execution
Ability to manage multiple concurrent sourcing initiatives across business groups
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and critical-thinking skills
Experience in contracting includes but not limited to Master Service Agreements, SaaS and Software License Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAs
Deep knowledge of procurement processes, supply markets, and supplier landscapes
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, matrixed organization
Strong understanding of pricing models and commercial terms
