Job Description

The Senior Manager, Interior Design, Luxury MEA is responsible for managing and delivering interior design services across new build, renovation, and conversion projects for Marriott International’s Luxury Brands throughout the Middle East and Africa region. Reporting within the Luxury Design team, this role provides strategic design leadership, ensures brand compliance, and supports the successful execution of projects from concept through completion. Working closely with owners, developers, consultants, hotel teams, and internal stakeholders, the Senior Manager serves as a key design representative for Marriott’s Luxury portfolio, safeguarding design excellence, operational functionality, and brand integrity across a diverse range of projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and deliver interior design services across new build, renovation, and conversion projects for Marriott International’s Luxury Brands throughout the Middle East and Africa region
  • Provide strategic design leadership
  • Ensure brand compliance
  • Manage the complete design process and documentation package for interior design of a hotel project
  • Review and comment on interior design drawings and specifications
  • Provide overall direction to professional design teams
  • Assist operating hotels with preparing renovation plans
  • Assess existing properties for potential conversion to Marriott brands
  • Solicit proposals, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance
  • Review and approve mock-up rooms
  • Perform final implementation review
  • Manage project budget, schedule, and personnel requirements
  • Represent the division in interior design issues
  • Mentor design team members
  • Manage professional fee and expense budgets
  • Liaise with designers, owners, franchisees, and hotels on renovation projects
  • Conduct and lead onsite reviews, surveys and meetings
  • Comply with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years´ experience in the design field in total, preferably in the hospitality design industry
  • Experience with new builds, conversions, and renovation projects
  • Strong background in FF&E selection and specification
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited Interior Design program preferred - equivalent industry experience will be considered
  • Professional accreditation and/or association membership preferred
  • High proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) in English is required
  • Proficiency in Arabic is preferred
  • At the time of application, applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Arab Emirates

  • Bridge Design and Engineering: Work in close partnership with Product and UX Design leads to translation of user needs into technical roadmaps, leveraging modern web trends and Design Systems (DS) to increase development velocity
  • Own the Portal Infrastructure: Take responsibility for the portal's backend infrastructure and services - overseeing deployments, scalability, uptime, and data flows that power the partner experience, in addition to frontend performance and CI/CD
  • Champion Operational Health: Take full ownership of the portal's stability, frontend and backend. You will oversee CI/CD pipelines, monitor performance metrics across the stack, and ensure robust security (Okta/OpenID) and SEO-friendly architectures
