Job Description

Baxter is hiring a Senior R&D Manager to become part of our Care and Connectivity Solutions business located in Raleigh, NC. Baxter designs medical solutions that improve clinical communication and cooperation as well as patient safety and well-being in the acute care hospital setting. The Senior R&D Manager is an exciting opportunity leading the completion of sustaining engineering projects within set parameters of quality, timing, and budget. The Senior R&D Manager will direct a technical team working on numerous projects that contribute to multiple product lines and boost product value.

Job Responsibility

  • Generate innovative solutions to complex problems using multiple fields and technical principles
  • Provide strategic leadership via collaborating with cross-functional teams and project managers to drive project planning and execution excellence
  • Take total ownership of team’s deliverables and ensure timely delivery with high quality. Drive functional excellence initiatives in the team
  • Champion continuous improvement activities by initiating process and product quality improvement initiatives
  • Own hardware build and manufacturing processes and maintain relationships with manufacturing partners
  • Manage hardware product sustaining for all supported product lines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 10 years of related experience or a master’s degree with 5+ years related experience
  • Experience building teams with a focus on high-quality product engineering
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in fields of building for manufacturing complex embedded systems (medical industry experience a plus)
  • Experience supporting electronics manufacturing and hardware validation
  • Experience with sustaining engineering activities such as managing obsolescence, manufacturing support, and component sourcing
  • Proven track record in leading analysis of product issues through troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and maintain high energy and drive team engagement
