Job Description

Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Director, this position is a people management role within our Financial Reporting function. You will collaborate across our accounting, finance, and legal organizations to guarantee the timely and accurate execution of critical reporting activities. The ideal candidate brings a robust background in technical accounting, an advanced understanding of GAAP and SEC regulations, and exceptional leadership skills. The Financial Reporting team is responsible for governing Uber's external financial disclosures—leading the preparation of all quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K/Q) and Earnings Releases, ensuring accurate U.S. GAAP and SEC disclosure for complex or significant transactions, and driving process improvements and automation for the reporting process. The team partners extensively with cross-functional groups, including Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Legal, Treasury, M&A Finance and Technical Accounting, and manages the relationship with external auditors.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the preparation and review of periodic financial statements, critical SEC filings, and internal management reporting packages
  • Collaborate across the organization by engaging directly with the finance leadership team and partnering strategically with the M&A, Finance, and Technical Accounting teams on high-impact initiatives
  • Mentor and train junior team members and educate cross-functional stakeholders on SEC reporting and complex disclosure requirements
  • Drive process optimization and automation while strengthening internal accounting controls and efficiencies
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs by applying sound professional judgment, ensuring all conclusions strictly adhere to accounting standards and internal company policies

Requirements

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including a minimum of 3+ years at a Big 4 firm
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant field
  • CPA license or equivalent
