Job Responsibility
Lead, develop, and implement a banking partnerships strategy for the US and the Americas that supports our vision for Airwallex’s global collections and payouts network
Manage our most strategic partnership opportunities, both existing and new, and act as the main point of contact between Airwallex and our partners
Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape to ensure that Airwallex maintains its position as a payment leader
Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banking partners, acquirers, and payment methods as Airwallex expands to new geographies
Coordinate due diligence processes with prospective partners and project manage onboarding with new partners
Develop yourself as an industry thought leader
Requirements
7+ years of experience working with financial institutions, card schemes, and payment networks
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships
A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional banks
Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams
International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships
A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
You are an exceptional communicator – you’re able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively
You thrive under pressure – and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment
You have strong negotiation skills – to navigate complex commercial discussions to ensure the best outcome for Airwallex
You’re a team player - work cohesively with colleagues from across the organization and be able to inspire a shared vision
