Job Description:

The Senior Manager, EMEA Trade Operations, is responsible for overseeing operational Trade Compliance activities for the region and maintaining compliance with global customs laws. They will work actively across the business to identify areas of cost and supply chain optimization through duty savings opportunities as well as serve providing regional import and export counsel for business partners. This individual is responsible for proactively identifying and managing risks to align with Cytiva’s regulatory, business, and financial objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the Cytiva daily import/export operations in EMEA while meeting targeted customer metrics (e.g., import cycle time)
  • Champion continuous improvement projects to expand import policies, procedures, work instructions to enhance compliance and operational efficiency
  • Conduct period risk assessments to identify both compliance and operational gaps in the EMEA trade program
  • Implement necessary corrective actions to close gaps
  • Implement country and site-specific Customs and Trade compliance programs in EMEA, including (but not limited to) import/export operations, import/export classification, bonded warehouse operations, AEO, Free Trade Agreements, and Valuation
  • Collaborate with DHR corporate self-testing, countermeasure, and risk assessment programs
  • Collaborate with Legal-Global Trade Compliance Leader to manage EMEA’s export control program to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and Danaher policies
  • Develop and conduct compliance training to support internal education
  • Coordinate initiatives with Tax, Legal, Logistics, IT, Global Security, Warehouse, Plant and Finance teams to provide strategic input into supply chain decisions
  • Lead, coach and develop career paths for the global trade team in EMEA

Requirements:

  • Long standing experience international trade and customs experience in areas of Free trade agreements, trusted trader programs, duty savings programs, transfer pricing, auditing, and trade management systems
  • Knowledge of EMEA import/export procedures and customs requirements
  • Working knowledge of export controls and export licensing processes
  • Ability to communicate (verbal, written) effectively in English across multiple levels
  • Comprehension of an effective global supply chain process and ability to foresee and mitigate potential obstacles and risks
  • Strong knowledge of international logistics processes
  • Proven ability to identify and implement strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations
  • Solid communication and analytical skills, including experience with communicating with others from different counties and cultures
  • Ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within the organization
