Job Description:

Ethos is looking for an ambitious self-starter to join our Finance & Strategy team. The Senior Manager / Director, Strategic Finance will own financial strategy and performance management for our direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. You will serve as a financial thought partner to leaders across Marketing, Product, and Sales, with a specific focus on DTC modeling, user acquisition, profitability, and new businesses evaluation. You will also be responsible for interfacing with external partners through either a Corp Dev or BizDev lens in support of these objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own financial planning and forecasting for the DTC business
  • Drive our efforts to better serve new customer segments, launch new insurance products, and/or partnerships offerings
  • Apply business judgment and financial insights to drive decision making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, operations, core business expansion, and new opportunities
  • Improve the speed and efficiency of our growth by collaborating closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams
  • Apply a data-driven analytical approach to influence decision making and support company leadership in evaluating strategic initiatives
  • Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, strategic finance, or consulting (with material CDD / Private Equity experience)
  • 3-5+ years in Strategic Finance, FP&A, or BizOps (with a material data / financial focus) roles at a DTC or consumer-facing company
  • Deep expertise in DTC unit economics and growth efficiency metrics
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and highly detailed levels
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners
  • Motivated self-starter with a track record of success and a proven ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks while hitting deadlines
  • Desire to own and drive projects from Day 1
  • Stellar academic record with a degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.)

Nice to have:

  • SQL knowledge preferred
  • Prior experience with Corp Dev / Biz Dev preferred
