The Senior Manager, Design & Project Management – Premium Brands, Europe & North Africa supports the delivery of design and project management activities across Marriott International’s premium portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Director, Premium Brands, the role is responsible for managing renovation, conversion, and new development projects for managed, franchised, and company-owned hotels. The position ensures quality control, brand compliance, and operational acceptability within approved budgets and timelines. Working closely with Owners, Development, Brand, and Operations teams, the role oversees projects from concept through completion, contributing to strong stakeholder relationships and successful project delivery across the region.
Job Responsibility
Manage renovation, conversion, and new development projects for managed, franchised, and company-owned hotels
Ensure quality control, brand compliance, and operational acceptability within approved budgets and timelines
Oversee projects from concept through completion
Provide direction to design teams to ensure alignment with brand strategy and operational requirements
Review design documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance and quality
Lead project kick-offs and communicate scope, timelines, and expectations clearly
Support feasibility reviews and early-stage project evaluations with Development teams
Oversee model room reviews and ensure adherence to brand standards
Manage punch list and project handover processes
Support value engineering efforts to balance design intent and budget requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, and franchisees
Act as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure consistent communication and alignment with regional and property stakeholders
Represent Marriott International’s interests in resolving project challenges
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants across disciplines
Prepare and support presentations for Design Review and approval processes
Assess properties for conversion opportunities and develop Property Improvement Plans (PIPs)
Ensure projects meet operational, brand, and guest experience expectations
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Partner with Global Design Accounting to maintain financial discipline across projects
Balance owner priorities, brand standards, and commercial considerations
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Ensure compliance with Marriott International regional policies and procedures
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality design, architecture, or project management
Proven experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, international environment
Strong understanding of hotel development, renovation, and conversion processes
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Equivalent industry experience will be considered
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Adobe, DWG viewers)
Solid project management and organizational skills
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
Effective communication and presentation abilities
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex project challenges
Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional and multicultural teams
Knowledge of industry trends, innovation, and emerging design concepts
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
Fluency in English required
