Job Description

The Senior Manager, Data Strategy, APEC is accountable for shaping and driving the organisation’s data strategy to support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and long-term growth. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, and technology, translating commercial objectives into a clear and actionable data vision. The role is responsible for defining how data is used as a strategic asset, ensuring that data investments are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable value across commercial, operational, and customer-facing functions.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across multiple sources and platforms
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to optimize data architecture for analytics and reporting needs
  • Implement and enforce data governance policies and standards
  • Drive continuous improvement in analytics operations through process optimization and adoption of best practices
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and analytics
  • Manage analytics projects end-to-end, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, and delivery
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external consultants/vendors to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, mitigate risks, and resolve issues to ensure successful outcomes
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized analytics solutions, tools, and services
  • Negotiate terms/scope of work and ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Communicate effectively with business leaders to translate business needs to project work scopes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Computer Science/Information Systems, or a quantitative discipline (finance, operations research, economics, mathematics, statistics, etc.)
  • Minimum 7 - 8 years of relevant professional experience demonstrating clear technical competency, progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • Preferred: Working industrial experience in Travel & Hospitality, F&B or Retail with demonstrated technical capabilities
  • Programming languages (Python, etc.)
  • Business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Data warehousing (Snowflake, Bigquery, SQL Server, etc.)
  • Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles for dashboard and reporting design and an understanding of AI Operations (AIOps)
  • Demonstrates a strong analytical ability, with knowledge of financial analysis, quantitative analysis, statistical tools, economic concepts and predictive modeling
  • Strong relationship and project management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects (data specifications, deadlines, and project requirements)
  • Excellent command of the English language
