Job Description

Partner with cross-functional teams, including Government Affairs, Value, Access and Pricing, Commercial, Medical Affairs and Corporate Affairs colleagues at global, regional and local levels, to advance priority policy communications across ELMAC. Develop and execute policy communications plans that are both proactive and reactive, to inform stakeholder understanding of key health policy issues relevant to patients, business priorities and the external environment across the region, including at times providing local hands-on execution or support and guidance to local teams. Act as a liaison with regional trade associations, sharing perspective and cascading materials when appropriate. Represent Amgen as an attendee at key events. Develop clear, insight-led messaging, policy responses and communications materials that can be adapted across markets while remaining aligned with enterprise and regional priorities. Monitor, analyze and interpret EU and regional policy developments, translating complex policy landscapes into clear implications, communications opportunities and potential risks. Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders and cross-functional teams on policy positioning, stakeholder engagement and issue preparedness in support of thoughtful, coordinated and compliant external engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in policy, public affairs, policy communications, or a related role, either in-house or in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare and policy environments, with particular depth in Europe and the ability to translate policy developments into clear communications and stakeholder engagement implications
  • Strong understanding of the stakeholders who shape healthcare and biotechnology policy and how to engage them effectively across markets
  • Proven ability to develop clear, insight-led messaging and materials for diverse policy audiences
  • Experience working cross-functionally and across markets, with the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-country, multi-language and multicultural stakeholder environments
