Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Commissions - Voluntary Business Operations is a lead role in Voluntary Business Operations responsible for managing broker and technology partner commission payments. Oversees commission calculations, payment systems, and broker relationship management while ensuring accuracy and compliance with compensation agreements.

Job Responsibility:

Ensure accurate and timely commission payments
Develop and maintain commission calculation systems
Respond to broker inquiries and resolve payment issues
Monitor payment accuracy and reconciliation
Maintain documentation of commission agreements
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Technology teams
Implement process improvements for efficiency

Requirements:

Experience managing commission payment processes in insurance/benefits industry
Strong understanding of broker compensation structures and payment systems, specifically for voluntary benefits including Group Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
Ability to develop and implement commission calculation methodologies
Experience with broker compensation agreements and contract terms
Proficiency in commission management systems and financial software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills for broker interactions
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

Knowledge of commission payment platforms and systems
Experience handling broker inquiries and resolving payment disputes
Understanding of broker of record (BOR) changes and implications
Background in operations or financial processing
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with process improvement and automation
Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements
Experience partnering with sales teams and understanding sales compensation structures
