The Sr. Manager, Change Management is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the successful transformation plan for a multi-year, enterprise-wide Epic transformation. This leader will design, execute, and govern the comprehensive change management strategy, with a primary focus on communicating the strategic purpose, vision, addressing organizational and individual impacts, and guiding employees and external stakeholders through the technology and business transitions. They will partner with functional stakeholders, ensure rapid internal (end user) & external (customer) adoption, high utilization, and proficiency with the new clinical and operational technology systems and associated business processes. This hands-on change agent will focus specifically on minimizing disruption, maximizing employee readiness, and integrating new ways of working across clinical, lab operations, patient services, commercial teams, and external provider/patient channels. This leader will support stakeholder development of Organizational Agility change skills and capabilities in inspiring, engaging, preparing and supporting people through transformations. This role requires a strategic thinker, strong collaborator, with deep execution experience in large-scale technology deployments, ideally within the medical/diagnostics industry. The Sr. Manager will work from Quest Diagnostic's Secaucus, NJ HQ. The position is hybrid (3 days in office) and travel will be 25-50%.
Job Responsibility:
In alignment with Quest's Organizational Agility Program, design and execute a holistic, people focused phased change management strategy utilizing models such as ADKAR or Kotter's 8-Step Process or People Centered Implementation (PCI)) encompassing communications, sponsor roadmap, stakeholder engagement, training, readiness assessments, and resistance management for all impacted groups
Converge people, process, systems & technology to benefit the internal end-users and external customers
Assess the downstream impact on patients, provider, partners, payors and employees and develop strategies to manage their interaction with the Epic systems
Conduct comprehensive Change Impact Assessments (CIA) by role and process, quantifying the scope of change and identifying specific training and communication needs
Establish and monitor adoption metrics, user satisfaction scores, and proficiency levels post-go-live, adjusting interventions as necessary
Develop transparent internal and external communications to build awareness, maintain excitement, manage expectations and ensure stakeholder engagement
Proactively identify areas of potential resistance (cultural, technical, or process-related) and develop targeted countermeasures
Maintain inventory of changes across different business & stakeholder groups. Establish feedback loops and rapid response teams to address adoption challenges during deployment waves
Build and manage a dedicated change ambassador network of change agents & super users
Align change plan to all program/project timelines and governance standards
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in Change Management, Organizational Development, or Program Management within large, complex organizations
Minimum 5 years of direct, hands-on experience leading change management for major ERP (SAP, Oracle) or EHR (Epic, Cerner) system implementations
Proven ability to manage change across thousands of users spread across multiple geographies and diverse functional roles (e.g., clinical, technical)
Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills. Expert proficiency in organizational change methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Prosci)
Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives
Ability to utilize process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) to integrate process change into the change management approach
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field
Nice to have:
Direct experience with Epic implementation, optimization, or large-scale upgrades
Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration (MBA), or a relevant advanced degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (e.g., PgMP)
Prosci Certification or a recognized equivalent change management methodology certification
Epic Certifications (e.g specific application certs or Epic Certified Analyst/Project Manager)
