Job Description

Senior Manager, Category Management at Capital One, responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and key third parties, enabling a well-managed and adaptable supply chain. This role is essential in the delivery of key cost, risk, and performance management-related efforts for third-party relationships, in addition to identifying strategic opportunities for growth and/or greater return on investment.

Job Responsibility

  • Negotiation: Partner to negotiate contracts and deals for a fast paced, motivated business group within Capital One
  • Problem Solving & Strategy Advice: Provide problem-solving and innovative ideas to support internal customers. Identify value-generating opportunities (e.g. savings, efficiencies, or revenue growth)
  • Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for third parties and manage an effective governance between Capital One and assigned third parties
  • Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships with key stakeholders that creates alignment on business strategy and fosters ability to move quickly on desired business outcomes in a well managed way
  • Risk Management: Monitor and ensure successful delivery against third party contractual obligations. Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant policies and procedures
  • Process Management: Accountable for policy requirements for all managed third-party relationships. Plan and lead periodic reviews and assessments of supplier relationships
  • Supplier Sourcing: Maintain awareness of external marketplace as it relates to your suppliers and perform sourcing activities where appropriate
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Serving as a people manager, coach and mentor to develop less seasoned and experienced Supplier Managers in their development

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Supplier Management
  • At least 3 years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation
  • At least 2 years of experience in Risk or Relationship Management
  • At least 3 years of experience with people leadership

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in Supplier Management, Relationship Management or Procurement
  • 3+ years of experience in Risk Management
  • 5+ years of experience in Contract Management or Deal Negotiation
  • 3+ years of experience in Operations, Process or Project Management
