The Senior Manager, Card Data Products is a member of the Data, Analytics and AI team and an integral part of Marriott’s Revenue and Technology organization. This position will be a technical and subject matter expert in customer, digital and marketing data with a special focus on Marriott’s Cobrand Credit Card line of business. This is an individual contributor role that entails hands-on data analysis & engineering skills to build and manage data products supporting analytics, reporting and machine learning needs. The Senior Manager will also partner with banks on data integration & provide technical support to large-scale Marriott reporting and operational projects; implement system and business process changes to improve data quality; and support departmental initiatives in the areas of data governance, data management, and analytics. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for contributing to the development of our cloud data platform by setting requirements and consulting on future platform initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Manage data product development using Snowflake SQL and/or Spark
Facilitate data integration & exchanges with domestic and international bank partners
Manage customer journey tagging & tracking requirements for digital & email data collection
Hands-on design of data products in Snowflake for enabling reporting and analytics
Develop & automate data engineering jobs using stored procedures & task schedulers
Identify new ways of engineering existing data or acquiring new data sources to support development of customer data products
Act as a bridge between GT and analytics teams facilitating data shares in a timely and accurate manner
Collaborate with peers and Director, Data Strategy & Management to develop systems and technologies that promotes automation & monitoring
Act as a trusted subject matter expert & partner with analytics teams to make recommendations on data usage
Perform user acceptance testing and build quality assurance plans for new data products
Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the organization
Updates stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback
Assists direct reports with building and maintaining stakeholder relationships as business partnerships
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar quantitative discipline required (MS or MBA preferred)
Cloud Data & Project Management Certification or background desired
5+ years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, data warehousing, or data science OR 3+ years with a Master's degree
Strong background in SQL for data analysis and new dataset development
Experience working on Hospitality data analytics and reporting strongly desired
Experience understanding marketing & digital data to enable omnichannel customer experience & measurement desired
Proven track record delivering from ideation to execution with data, visualization tools and analytic technique
Customer obsessed product mindset with ability to architect technical solutions for complex business problems
Cloud Data Warehouse (Snowflake - preferred, Big Query/Redshift & traditional data warehouses considered)
Cloud Data Platform (AWS - preferred, Azure/GCP/Hadoop also considered)
Data Analysis/Programming languages (SQL, Python, Spark)
Experience with Data Visualization Tool (Tableau, PowerBI preferred)
